Purpose of the initiative
- By providing high-quality, safe and secure Uji tea, we aim to increase trust in Uji tea.
- By working on environmentally friendly tea production and preventing agricultural labor accidents,
- Uji tea producers and the production area will continue to develop sustainably.
To achieve the above goals, producers, related institutions and organizations, and the government will work together to introduce and implement Uji tea GAP.
Characteristics of Uji Tea GAP
- Unified management standards within the prefecture.
- It consists of a "practical movement" in which all tea producers in Kyoto Prefecture participate, and an "approval system" that recognizes those who meet certain standards (tea factories).
- Those who practice and approve Uji tea GAP will be issued an "Uji tea GAP Practice Confirmation Certificate" and an "Uji tea GAP Approval Certificate".
