Kyoto Prefectural Tea Industry Hall

The Kyoto Prefectural Tea Industry Hall is an important component of the nationally designated Important Cultural Landscape and is a historical building. There are two training rooms on the first floor and a training room and a Japanese-style room on the second floor. The windows overlook the beautiful Uji River, and the building is conveniently located within walking distance of Keihan Uji Station and JR Uji Station. There is also parking for five cars.

Q&A on using the Kyoto Prefectural Tea Industry Hall

Closed on Wednesdays, New Year's holiday (12/29 - 1/4), and Obon holiday (8/14 - 8/16).

The facility cannot be used for commercial sales or other business activities, events involving missionary activities, events involving the use of fire, events involving loud noise, etc. For details, please see the Terms of Use.

If the use of the facility is for Uji tea public interest business activities, the basic usage fee will be halved. The public interest of facility use is determined by confirming the purpose of use at the time of application for permission to use, and if the use is for the promotion of Uji tea, it will be considered to be used for public interest activities regardless of whether it is for various organizations, government agencies, or individuals. Use by various organizations, government agencies, or individuals for activities that are not in line with the promotion of Uji tea or the purpose of our corporation will be considered to be for non-public interest purposes.

Example of criteria
Public interest activities:
 ・Use for holding events such as the "Tea and Tea Ceremony" for the general public
 - Use for training instructors on how to brew Uji tea
 ・Using the facility to hold events to promote and raise awareness of Uji tea, etc.
Activities that do not qualify as public interest activities:
 ・For use in board meetings and general assemblies of various organizations
 - Use by various organizations, governments, and individuals for meetings and information sessions other than the promotion of Uji tea

However, we cannot dispose of any trash that you bring in, so please be sure to take it with you when you leave.

If you are coming by public transport

Approximately 3 minutes walk from Keihan Uji Station, approximately 15 minutes walk from JR Uji Station

If you come by car

・If coming by car, head 200m upstream along the river from the east end of Uji Bridge.
From Shiga, take the Keiji Bypass "Uji Higashi IC" and drive 1.8km (about 10 minutes)
From Osaka, take the Keiji Bypass "Uji-nishi IC" and drive 3.1km (about 20 minutes)

Parking 5 cars. Buses cannot be parked (except for microbuses).
(Large vehicles cannot pass through the road in front of our hall.)
・For large buses, please use the nearby parking lot, such as Uji Parking Lot (122 Uji Togawa, Uji City).
It takes about 10 minutes on foot from Byodoin Temple to our hotel.
